Basic Course. 160 Hours.

This course is the basic course required by the Illinois Secretary of State for students to be able to test and obtain a CDL. It is a combination of classroom, laboratory, observation and behind-the-wheel practice. During the classroom and laboratory sessions students learn about safe driving procedure, accident prevention, inspecting vehicle for safety. Behind-the-wheel is one on one training in the vehicle with instructors. Students learn basic handling of the tractor-trailer combination such as straight line backing, angle backing, parallel parking, safe turns, shifting 10 speed manual transmission and driving safely in various road settings.
